Originally from Providence, Rhode Island, Max Farago began his career working in the photography department at The New Yorker Magazine.
His personal portraits of friends and lovers caught the attention of Carine Roitfeld, then editor of Paris Vogue where he became a regular contributor. Farago’s work favours intimate, minimalist compositions at the intersection of art and fashion, with editorial clients including Vogue, Harper’s Bazaar, Arena Homme+, Pop, Purple, Another, Dazed and The New York Times. Farago has also shot advertising campaigns for Chanel, Hermes, Chloe, Nike and Boss.
In addition to his commercial photography, Farago’s personal work has been exhibited internationally in galleries and museums such as Canada (NYC), Jonathan Viner Gallery (London) and The Centro Recoletta (Buenos Aires).
