James Brodribb

James Brodribb is a New York based photographer and director.

Shooting primarily on film, his work is celebrated for its cinematic charm, producing images rich in storytelling. 

Born in England, Brodribb spent his early years in Normandy, France before moving to the Eastern Cape of South Africa, where he first developed an interest in documentary style photography, influenced by the people, politics and landscape of the Continent. 

Having relocated to New York in his early twenties, Brodribb got his professional start working at a creative agency, later assisting a number of prominent photographers. 

Today, he documents the fashion landscape through a distinctly international lens. Brodribb has shot for publications including Replica Man, i-D, Vogue France, Document Journal and Financial Times HTSI. His commercial clients include Calvin Klein, Zara, Isabel Marant and Giorgio Armani.
